Diya Dead To Me

Dead To Me was written in that moment where heartbreak starts turning into anger - not loud anger, but the quiet kind that comes from finally seeing the truth.

It’s the part of the healing process where you look back and think,

“How did I let someone treat me like that?”

When I wrote this song, I was still picking up the pieces of everything that had been burned down. I felt like I was tiptoeing on a tightrope, trying not to fall apart, while the person who broke me just kept pulling the strings. It’s that feeling of being talked down to, dismissed, treated like a pretty little decoration, something to pick up or drop depending on their mood.

Dead To Me is the moment I realized I’m not a toy.

I’m not someone’s puppet. No I'm not!!! Absolutely not!!! I'm not even a puppet yet alone to belong to someone!! Like come on now!!

I’m not here to be controlled, used, or displayed.

It’s me finally saying the words I was too scared to say back then:

“You don’t get to have that power over me anymore.” So go and listen to this song because it's fire!!!

Dead To Me is not a cold song; it’s a freeing one.

It’s me breaking the chains one by one, learning to choose myself, learning to walk away even if part of me still remembers the good times. This song is for anyone who’s ever said, “Enough. I deserve better.”

Because the moment you say that, you’re already healing.
